In the beginning of 2000s HR was focused on processes, policies and procedures. And, being in trend, I was mainly concerned with putting HR framework in order.
In mid-2000s to beginning of 2010s HR was shifting a lot towards HR Business Partnership paradigm. I became extremely business focused, having developed strong capability to understand business needs and find People solution to maximise performance.
In mid 2010s the era of People & Culture came. Many HR functions started to be renamed, switching their attention to Engagement, Talent, Potential, Leadership, Culture. I recognised how much Engagement and Culture are influencing success of an Organisation. I was part of several turnarounds, where poor performing organisations were given opportunity to realise Potential at their best. There was a time of discovery that long-term success is more important than short-term gain.
In 2020s came time of Authenticity, Humanity, Happiness, Diversity & Inclusion, Liberated organisations, Servant leadership, Self-management. Together with new trends People function changes to grow into critical Business Leadership role.
